Previous issue date: 2016-03-31 / This study aimed to understand the participation of women associated with the Organização das Mulheres Unidas - OMUS in the development of rural settlement Gleba XV de Novembro, located in RosanaSP. This was the first settlement of land reform in the Pontal do Paranapanema region, and women have actively participated the process that culminated in the creation and the struggles and achievements that came later. It is known, however, that the official story generally perpetuates the invisibility of women, so this study aims to present the perspective of these rural women about their own stories and the local history, which came jointly. For this, we use as a basis the concepts and procedures of Oral History, working on memory through interviews with tape recorder and using a questionnaire to obtain objective information. It was noticeable that the participation of women over the history of the Settlement has been of great importance and that this contributed to the creation of OMUS, which now leads the organization of the main project of the local income generation being a concrete example of the organizational capacity of rural women. Beyond the financial benefits, the Association has been promoting empowerment in many ways, it is a way for these women to be protagonists of their trajectories, which are ahead of activities that were previously set apart, and fight for their goals free of bonds that previously limited their actions. / O presente trabalho teve como objetivo entender a participação das mulheres associadas à Organização das Mulheres Unidas – OMUS no desenvolvimento do assentamento rural Gleba XV de Novembro, localizado em RosanaSP. Esse foi o primeiro assentamento da reforma agrária na região do Pontal do Paranapanema, e as mulheres participaram ativamente dos processos que culminaram na sua criação e das lutas e conquistas que vieram posteriormente. Sabe-se, entretanto, que a história oficial, em geral, perpetua a invisibilidade da mulher, por isso o presente trabalho busca apresentar a perspectiva dessas mulheres rurais acerca de suas próprias histórias e da história local, que se deram de forma conjunta. Para isso, utilizamos como base os conceitos e procedimentos da História oral, trabalhando com a memória através de entrevistas com uso de gravador e utilizando questionário para a obtenção de informações objetivas. Foi possível notar que a participação das mulheres ao longo da história do Assentamento tem sido de suma importância e que isso contribuiu para a criação da OMUS, que hoje lidera a organização do principal projeto de geração de renda do local sendo um exemplo concreto da capacidade organizativa das mulheres rurais. Além dos benefícios financeiros, a Associação vem promovendo o empoderamento em diversos sentidos, sendo um meio para que essas mulheres sejam protagonistas de suas trajetórias, que estejam à frente de atividades das quais antes eram apartadas, e que lutem por seus objetivos livres de amarras que antes limitavam suas ações.
