Previous issue date: 2011-01-20 / The general aim of this project is to analyze the relationship between policies and health
education in nursing training, in Dourados-MS, from the evaluation of former students. To
understand this issue, we sought answers from the nursing students who graduated in the
“Universidade Estadual do Mato Grosso do Sul”, trained by two different models of
curriculum, the one of 1998 and the other of 2004, which, respectively, were drawn from the current law curriculum at the time. This is a qualitative research, conducted by the literature review, document analysis, field research through the use of questionnaires and focus groups. From a neo institutionalist perspective, the former students are key players in the political arena as articulators of public educational policies at the micro level, concerning the internal policies of public higher education institutions, and macro-level, since they constitute a professional working group. The results demonstrate that the analyzed nursing program sought to adapt the course to the Curriculum Guidelines for Undergraduate Degree in Nursing. For the former students, today’s curriculum is noteworthy by the completeness and by the supervised training. However, the former students expressed difficulties regarding to the innovative pedagogical issues suggested by the National Curriculum Guidelines, demonstrating the need for the continuous debate about it among students, teachers and institutions which are partners of the University. Mostly of the former students’ testimonies demonstrated the ignorance they have about the confluence of policies on education and health in their training process, even with their subsequent integration into the world of work. It is believed that the actions of collective health, according to the ideals of the Constitution of 1988, of extending public social services to a greater number of Brazilians, with quality and impact on public health system are the foundations for the nursing education. / O objetivo geral deste projeto é analisar a relação entre as políticas de educação e de saúde na formação do enfermeiro, em Dourados-MS, a partir da avaliação dos alunos egressos. Para a compreensão dessa questão buscaram-se as respostas junto aos egressos do curso de Enfermagem da Universidade Estadual de Mato Grosso do Sul, formados em dois modelos distintos de matriz curricular, o de 1998 e o de 2004, cada qual elaborado a partir da legislação curricular específica da época. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, que procedeu à revisão bibliográfica, análise documental, pesquisa de campo, por meio da utilização de questionários e de grupo focal. Sob uma perspectiva neoinstitucionalista, os egressos são
atores importantes no cenário político como articuladores de políticas públicas educacionais em nível micro, referente às políticas internas das instituições de ensino superior públicas, e em nível macro, pois constituem uma categoria profissional inserida no mundo do trabalho. Os resultados demonstram que o curso de Enfermagem em questão, buscou adequar-se às orientações curriculares para a graduação em Enfermagem. Para os egressos, a matriz curricular atual destaca-se pela proposta de integralidade e pelos estágios supervisionados. No entanto, os egressos apontaram dificuldades em relação às questões pedagógicas inovadoras propostas pelas Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais para o Curso de Graduação em
Enfermagem, demonstrando a necessidade de contínuo debate a respeito, tanto para discentes, como para docentes e instituições parceiras da Universidade. Os depoimentos dos egressos, em sua maioria, demonstraram o desconhecimento que eles possuem acerca da confluência das políticas de educação e de saúde no seu processo de formação, mesmo com sua posterior inserção no mundo do trabalho. Acredita-se que as ações de saúde coletiva, tendo em vista os ideais da Constituição Federal de 1988, no sentido de estender as políticas públicas sociais, a um maior número de brasileiros, com qualidade, e que encontraram repercussão no SUS, são as bases para a formação do enfermeiro.
