Previous issue date: 2018-03-27 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / The present dissertation starts from questions about the limits and borders between genders, the exchanges and negotiations that involve the constitution of subjects. In this way, we analyzed the models of masculinities and femininities presented by the social column and the police column in the newspaper of the city of Maringá called Folha do Norte do Paraná between the years of 1965 and 1973. From the theoretical reference of Gender Studies, thinking about the production of masculinities and femininities, the concept of performativity of the author Judith Butler and Michel Foucault's positions on the constitution of knowledge, powers and subjects, we focused on the approach of some subjectivities that served as model and reference, being emphasized in the speeches of the press. In this context, the figures of “good men”, "ladies of society", "sluts" and "drunks" were constituted in an opposite, extreme and complete way between one and another. Through these dualities in relation to the masculine and feminine performances conveyed by the newspaper, we observed how the context of Maringá was articulated, in which the newspaper was produced, with its content and the production of meanings and subjects. When analyzing the constructions of gender present in the newspaper we noticed that these were not unanimous or corresponding directly to the region’s reality, being in fact, one of the possible readings of that time, associated and influenced by the groups involved in the production of these meanings. / A presente dissertação parte de questões acerca dos limites e fronteiras entre os gêneros, das trocas e negociações que envolvem a constituição dos sujeitos. Dessa maneira, procuramos analisar os modelos de masculinidades e feminilidades apresentadas pela coluna social e a coluna policial do jornal maringaense Folha do Norte do Paraná entre os anos de 1965 e 1973. A partir do referencial teórico dos Estudos de Gênero, pensando na produção de masculinidades e feminilidades, do conceito de performatividade da autora Judith Butler e das colocações de Michel Foucault sobre a constituição dos saberes, poderes e sujeitos, privilegiamos a abordagem de algumas subjetividades que serviam de modelo e referência, sendo enfatizados nos discursos da imprensa. Nesse contexto, as figuras dos “homens de bem”, das “senhoras da sociedade”, das “vadias” e dos “bebuns” eram constituídas de maneira oposta, extrema e completar entre uns e outros. Por meio dessas dualidades em relação às performances masculinas e femininas veiculadas pelo periódico, observamos como se articulava o contexto da cidade de Maringá, na qual o Jornal era produzido, com o seu conteúdo e a produção de sentidos e sujeitos. Ao analisar as construções de gênero presentes no periódico notamos que estas não eram unânimes ou correspondiam diretamente a realidade da região, se configurando, na verdade, como uma das leituras possíveis de sua época, associada e influenciada pelos grupos envolvidos na produção desses sentidos.
