Previous issue date: 2014-12-19 / It has been proposed, by this work, the explanation of the phenomena cohesion and coherence, coined by Textual Linguistics, under the light of the Theory of Argumentation within Language (AWL), developed by Oswald Ducrot and fellow researchers. We have justified the research for there is a need to explain the construction of the meaning in a discourse by the means offered by Language itself, since it underlies all discourses, it is within it that speakers search the elements to enunciate, and it is through it that they enunciate. This is the differential of Argumentation Theory within Language: analyzing utterances and discourses starting from the Language. To this Theory, language is fundamentally argumentative. Thus, any choice of the speaker influences the meaning built by him. The meanings, according to Theory of Semantic Blocks (TSB) - current phase of AWL - can be explained by means of argumentative chaining. The discourses analyzed are chronicles, and the application of the concepts of TSB has allowed us to describe how cohesion and coherence can be explained in terms of AWL. By raising the internal and external argumentations of the lexicon and utterances and by the relationships established between the semantic blocks and argumentative aspects of the same semantic block in the discourses analyzed, it has been possible to cast a particular view on the long known phenomena which are cohesion and coherence. / Propusemos, por meio deste trabalho, a explica??o dos fen?menos coes?o e coer?ncia, cunhados pela Lingu?stica Textual, sob a luz da Teoria da Argumenta??o na L?ngua (ANL), desenvolvida por Oswald Ducrot e demais colaboradores. Justificamos a pesquisa por haver necessidade de explicar a constru??o dos sentidos em um discurso pelos meios oferecidos pela pr?pria L?ngua, uma vez que ela subjaz a qualquer discurso, ? nela que os locutores buscam os elementos para enunciar, e ? por ela que os locutores se enunciam. Este ? o diferencial da Teoria da Argumenta??o na L?ngua: analisar enunciados e discursos a partir da l?ngua. Para essa Teoria, a l?ngua ? fundamentalmente argumentativa. Assim sendo, toda e qualquer escolha do locutor tem influ?ncia no sentido que ele constr?i. Os sentidos, segundo a Teoria dos Blocos Sem?nticos (TBS) - fase atual da ANL- podem ser explicitados por meio de encadeamentos argumentativos. Os discursos analisados foram cr?nicas, e a aplica??o dos conceitos da TBS nos permitiu descrever de que forma coes?o e coer?ncia podem ser explicadas em termos da ANL. Pelo levantamento de argumenta??es internas e externas ao l?xico e aos enunciados e pelas rela??es estabelecidas entre os blocos sem?nticos e aspectos argumentativos de um mesmo bloco sem?ntico nos discursos analisados, foi poss?vel lan?ar um olhar particular sobre os fen?menos t?o conhecidos que s?o coes?o e coer?ncia.
