Previous issue date: 2016-03-31 / The Fundamentals of Social Service in Latin America and the Caribbean are revealed as a theme permeated of concealments, because of the scarce studies published about this subject and also because of the historical-political, socioeconomic and cultural particularities of the Latin American region. In the light of the historical and dialectical materialist method, to analyze the conditions of the professional history of the Fundamentals of Social Service in Latin America and the Caribbean facing this reality "so unique and diverse" is the general objective of this thesis, in order to unveil the particularities, the conceptual approximations and disagreements, as such as the epistemological and axiological dimension which sustain the fundamentals of the profession in Brazil, Chile and in Cuba post-movement of reconceptualization. In an exploratory way, this research for joint approach used the following methodological procedures in the research process: (a) bibliographic review of materials that focus on history, theory and method of the selected countries; (b) the documentary and bibliographic research, basically in the online form, to constitute the map of analytical information sources; (c) documentary exploration and bibliographic preview (using a roadmap for guidance), to organize the information in blocks of analysis; and (d) the content analysis technique, to decode information and perform inferences with the theoretical-methodological matrix. The expositive synthesis of the results of this search allows us to conclude that the Fundamentals of Social Service in Latin America and the Caribbean, elucidate common traits in the professional genesis, but the production and reproduction of social life emanate sociopolitical particularities to countries which confer particular configuration to the profession despite of procedural and organic relationship with reality and to its concretion as professional work. These conditions ? that besides historical-professional, are political, economic and social ? which interpose, in the corpus of the Fundamentals, the necessary appropriation of social knowledge arrays and the movement of the national society, for designing social and political direction to the professional work, whether by conservative bias, whether emancipatory. / Os Fundamentos do Servi?o Social na Am?rica Latina e no Caribe revelam-se como um mote permeado de ocultamentos, em face dos ex?guos estudos publicados sobre o tema e das particularidades hist?rico-pol?ticas, socioecon?micas e culturais da regi?o latino-americana. ? luz do m?todo materialista hist?rico e dial?tico, analisar os condicionantes hist?rico-profissionais dos Fundamentos do Servi?o Social na Am?rica Latina e no Caribe frente a essa realidade ?una e diversa? ? o objetivo geral desta tese, a fim de desvendar as particularidades, as aproxima??es e as dissens?es conceituais, epistemol?gicas e axiol?gicas que sustentam os Fundamentos da profiss?o no Brasil, no Chile e em Cuba p?s-Movimento de Reconceitua??o. Do tipo explorat?rio, a pesquisa de enfoque misto utilizou-se dos seguintes procedimentos metodol?gicos no processo de investiga??o: (a) revis?o bibliogr?fica de materiais que versassem sobre hist?ria, teoria e m?todo dos pa?ses selecionados; (b) pesquisa bibliogr?fica e documental, basicamente na forma on line, para constituir o mapa de fontes de informa??o anal?tica; (c) explora??o documental e bibliogr?fica pr?via (com uso de roteiro norteador), para organizar as informa??es em blocos de an?lise; e (d) t?cnica de an?lise de conte?do, para decodificar as informa??es e realizar infer?ncias em liame com a matriz te?rico-metodol?gica. A s?ntese expositiva dos resultados da pesquisa permite aferir que os Fundamentos do Servi?o Social na Am?rica Latina e no Caribe elucidam tra?os comuns na g?nese profissional, mas a produ??o e a reprodu??o da vida social dimanam particularidades sociopol?ticas aos pa?ses, as quais conferem configura??o particular ? profiss?o em face da processual e org?nica rela??o com a realidade e ? sua concre??o como trabalho profissional. S?o esses mesmos condicionantes ? que al?m de hist?ricos-profissionais, s?o pol?ticos, econ?micos e sociais ? que interp?em, no corpus dos Fundamentos, a necess?ria apropria??o das matrizes de conhecimento do social e do movimento da sociedade nacional, para projetar dire??o social e pol?tica ao trabalho profissional, seja por vi?s conservador, seja emancipat?rio.
