Previous issue date: 2015-08-31 / This work is an investigation on the construction of belonging in the life of a migrant.
The investigation is theoretically grounded in the Phenomenological Sociology (Alfred
Sch?tz), the Sociology of Knowledge (Peter Berger, Thomas Luckmann), and the Sociology of Processes and Figurations (Norbert Elias). The biographical narrative interview method of the German tradition (Frits Sch?tze, Gabriele Rosenthal) is used in the reconstruction of an empirical case, which encompasses the analysis of a Haitian migrant?s life and of its family in Haiti, Ecuador, Peru and Brazil. Therefore empirically grounded knowledge on the constitution of feelings of belonging in the life trajectory of a Haitian migrant in Brazil is possible. Based on the analysis of the empirical case, a few remarks that put in question traditionally used categories in the migration field of studies arise from the case reconstruction. The research points towards the existence of a type of return migrant that is uncommon in migration studies, for his return is planned taking into account the country for which the migrant developed his sense of belonging. These feelings are expressed through his will to become president of his nation in order to help the people of his homeland. This type of migrant has traits of national leadership, whose sense of belonging was forged through its displacement across international frontiers. / O trabalho consiste em uma investiga??o a respeito da constru??o do pertencimento na
vida de um migrante. A pesquisa fundamenta-se teoricamente na tradi??o da Sociologia de
orienta??o fenomenol?gica (Alfred Sch?tz), da Sociologia do conhecimento (Peter Berger,
Thomas Luckmann) e da Sociologia dos processos e figura??es (Norbert Elias). O m?todo de
entrevista narrativa biogr?fica de matriz alem? (Fritz Sch?tze e Gabriele Rosenthal) ?
utilizado para a reconstru??o de um caso emp?rico, que compreende uma an?lise da vida de
um migrante haitiano e de sua fam?lia no Haiti, Equador, Peru e Brasil. Com isso, procura-se
oferecer conhecimento empiricamente fundamentado a respeito da constitui??o dos
sentimentos de perten?a na trajet?ria de vida de um imigrante haitiano no Brasil, a partir do
qual ? proposto um questionamento de categorias difundidas nos estudos correntes sobre a
migra??o. Os resultados da investiga??o indicam a exist?ncia de um tipo de migrante de
retorno que n?o aparece com frequ?ncia na literatura, uma vez que o retorno ? planejado em
rela??o ao pa?s do qual se sente parte, sintetizada em sua vontade de tornar-se presidente da
na??o com o intuito de ajudar a popula??o de seu pa?s natal. Esse tipo de migrante configurase
como o de uma lideran?a nacional, cujo sentimento de pertencimento foi constru?do pelo
seu deslocamento atrav?s de fronteiras internacionais.
