Previous issue date: 2017-03-03 / This research consists of a reflection on the phenomenon of school occupations
carried out by the secondary youths of the city of Porto Alegre, as well as the search
to understand the effects that the phenomenon may have created in the school reality
of the occupied schools. The occupations of state schools occurred from May to June
of 2016. Such approach was made in order to understand the collective
organizations, cultural manifestations and political negotiations developed by
students throughout the school occupations period. For this purpose, I observed
three schools of the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre as well as I carried out a
selection of published journalistic material on the event. In order to investigate the
effects caused on the school reality by the occupations, from the perspective of the
students, seven young people who engaged on the occupations in their schools were
interviewed. The notions of youths and youth culture supported the understanding of
the phenomenon, as well as the reflection on identity issues that constitute some
premises of the subject in late modernity. The importance of spaces of sociability, the
exercise of negotiation and recognition of the differences in school territory as
juvenile demands are some elements in the analysis and reflection of this research. / Esta pesquisa consiste em uma reflex?o acerca do fen?meno das ocupa??es escolares realizadas pelas juventudes secundaristas da cidade de Porto Alegre, bem como a busca de compreender os efeitos que o fen?meno podem ter gerado na realidade escolar das escolas ocupadas. As ocupa??es de escolas estaduais ocorreram durante o per?odo de maio a junho de 2016. Realizou-se uma aproxima??o do acontecimento para compreender as organiza??es coletivas, as manifesta??es culturais e as negocia??es pol?ticas desenvolvidas pelos estudantes ao longo das ocupa??es escolares. Para isso, observou-se tr?s escolas da regi?o metropolitana de Porto Alegre e realizou-se sele??o de mat?rias jornal?sticas publicadas sobre o fen?meno. A fim de investigar os efeitos na realidade escolar que as ocupa??es desencadearam, a partir da perspectiva dos estudantes, entrevistou-se sete jovens que protagonizaram as ocupa??es em suas escolas. Para fundamentar a compreens?o do fen?meno, utilizou-se das no??es de juventudes e culturas juvenis, bem como a reflex?o sobre quest?es identit?rias que comp?em algumas premissas constitutivas do sujeito da modernidade tardia. A import?ncia de espa?os de sociabilidade, o exerc?cio da negocia??o e do reconhecimento das diferen?as no territ?rio escolar como demandas juvenis s?o alguns dos elementos de
an?lise e reflex?o nesta pesquisa.
