O presente trabalho procura investigar a recorrência da imagem do suicídio presente na obra poética do escritor português Mário de Sá-Carneiro e como a temática da morte norteou sua produção sempre dialogando com os momentos de crises psicológicas vividos pelo poeta que, fatalmente, culminaram em seu suicídio. / The current paper attempts to investigate the recurrence of the suicide image present in the poetry works of Portuguese writer Mário de Sá-Carneiro and how the motif of death steered his production forever intercommunicating with the moments of psychological crisis the author went through that, inevitably, led to his suicide.
