Previous issue date: 2015-05-21 / Fundação Oswaldo Cruz, Instituto Fernandes Figueira.Rio de janeiro, RJ, Brasil / Esta tese tem como objetivo investigar os sentidos sobre amamentação produzidos nos discursos oficiais de promoção e orientação ao aleitamento materno voltados a profissionais de saúde, empresários, mulheres e população em geral. Tais materiais, desenvolvidos como parte integrante da atual Política Nacional de Promoção, Proteção e Apoio ao Aleitamento Materno do Ministério da Saúde (MS), ratificam os períodos ideais de aleitamento materno preconizadospor OMS/Unicef desde a assinatura da Declaração de Innocenti (1990) e reiteram conceitos difundidos internacionalmente acerca da prática. Nos 26 materiais que copuseram o corpus, buscou-se compreender a produção de sentidos sobre o tema para os diferentes segmentos sociais, problematizando as possíveis interdições que sofrem esses discursos (FOUCAULT, 2000). O principal referencial teórico e metodológico adotado foi a Teoria dos Discursos Sociais (VERÓN, 2004), que questiona a aparente transparência do texto, relacionando suas marcas textuais às condições sociais de produção (PINTO, 1999)
Como resultado da análise, observou-se que 1) na forma, tais materiais caracterizam-se por uma comunicação vertical e de cunho, predominantemente, imperativo, na qual a mulher é, frequentemente, objetivada e representada como instrumento necessário ao sucesso da política pública de saúde da criança; 2) no conteúdo, tendem a concentrar sua atenção no incentivo à prática da amamentação e na valorização de seus benefícios (sobretudo para a criança), secundarizando possíveis aspectos psicossociais para o bebê, a mulher e a família. O leite materno aparece como principal objeto da política pública recente, enquanto a complexidade da amamentação e seus desdobramentos na inserção familiar e social da mulher raramente são abordados / The purpose of this study was to investigate the meanings of breastfeeding
conveyed by
official speeches
on the
promotion of and guidance to breastfeeding
to health professionals,
business community, women and population in general.

part of the current Brazilian Ministry of Health (MoH) Policy for Brea
