Esta dissertação teve por objetivo investigar a visão de crianças e adolescentes do gênero feminino, na faixa etária de 6 a 14 anos, sobre a condição de “ser menina e adolescente-menina”, à luz da Abordagem Bioecológica do Desenvolvimento Humano. Este trabalho é um recorte da pesquisa nacional “Por Ser Menina”.Participaram do estudo 39 meninas, sendo 8 na faixa etária de 6 a 10 anos, e 31, dos 11 aos 14 anos. O método de análise foi a Análise Temática, através da qual chegou-se a temas e subtemas referentes às atividades, características e, principalmente, relações destacadas pelas participantes de cada faixa etária quanto ao que é ser menina para elas. Concluiu-se que a percepção do que é ser menina se modifica no curso do desenvolvimento, que discursos tradicionais e atuais sobre gênero coexistem na fala das meninas e que ser menina é principalmente vivenciar diversos processos, tanto positivos como negativos. / This dissertation aimed to investigate the vision of female children and adolescents, aged from 6 to 14 year old, about the condition of “being a girl and girl in transition to adolescent”, following the approach of the bioecological model of human development. This work is a part of a Brazilian national research titled “Por Ser Menina” (“For Being a Girl”). The study included 39 girls, 8 of which aged from 6 to 10, and 31, aged from 11 to 14 years old. The method of analysis used was the Thematic Analysis, through which some themes and sub-themes emerged about the activities, characteristics and, most importantly, relationships highlighted by participants of each age group about what is meant to them to be a girl. The conclusion included a discussion of how the perception of being a girl changes across of the development, where traditional and modern speeches about gender coexist in girls´ statements and, that being a girl is mainly to live different processes that can be both, positive and negative.
