nÃo hà / This work aims to contribute to empirical literature on the Brazilian regional disequilibrium analyzing, the period after Real plan stabilization, the economic
performance of each region of the country in terms of the growth pro-poor person - economic growth followed by reduction in the inequality - and of the social welfare.
Using methodology of Kakwani, Neri and Son (2006), it extracted data of the National Research for Sample of Domiciles (PNAD/IBGE), the present study finds, for each
one of the Brazilianâs region: (i) the growth and the inequality of the per capita familiar average income (ii) the evolution of the main indices of poverty (iii) the taxes of growth of the labor income and the corresponding decomposition in tax of job, number of hours worked for person, tax of participation of the labor force and
productivity. (iv) the decomposition of the productivity in scholarship, return per year of study and redistribution of this return among the families. Beyond analyzing the
regional performances of each one of these items and components, this research quantifies the growth pro-poor person and the social welfare associated to them,
contributing, this way, for the agreement on the differences of economic performances among the regions of the country. The results show that the bigger
impacts in the income and the social welfare was because of the tax of participation of workers for family and, mainly, to the productivity of them. Regarding to the
productivity, it had reduction from 1995 to 2002 and increases from 2003. The increase of the productivity in all Brazilian regions from 2003 was caused by the
additions in the average returns proceeding from the education of the workers. / Este trabalho contribui para a literatura empÃrica sobre desequilÃbrio regional brasileiro ao analisar, no perÃodo pÃs-plano real, o desempenho econÃmico de cada
regiÃo do paÃs em termos do crescimento prÃ-pobre â crescimento econÃmico acompanhado de reduÃÃo na desigualdade - e do bem-estar social. Utilizando metodologia presente em Kakwani, Neri e Son (2006) e dados extraÃdos da
Pesquisa Nacional por Amostra de DomicÃlios (PNAD/IBGE), o presente estudo encontra, para cada uma das regiÃes brasileiras: (i) o crescimento e a desigualdade da renda mÃdia familiar per capita (ii) a evoluÃÃo dos principais Ãndices de pobreza (iii) as taxas de crescimento da renda do trabalhador e a correspondente decomposiÃÃo em taxa de emprego, nÃmero de horas trabalhadas por pessoa empregada, taxa de participaÃÃo da forÃa de trabalho e produtividade. (iv) a
decomposiÃÃo da produtividade em escolaridade, retorno por ano de estudo e redistribuiÃÃo deste retorno entre as famÃlias. AlÃm de analisar os desempenhos regionais de cada um destes itens e componentes, esta pesquisa quantifica o crescimento prÃ-pobre e o bem-estar social associados a eles, contribuindo, dessa forma, para entendimento sobre as diferenÃas de performances econÃmicas entre as regiÃes do paÃs. Os resultados mostram que maiores impactos na renda dos trabalhos e no bem-estar social deveram-se à taxa de participaÃÃo de trabalhadores por famÃlia e, principalmente, à produtividade dos trabalhadores. Com relaÃÃo Ã
produtividade, houve reduÃÃo de 1995 a 2002 e acrÃscimos a partir de 2003. O aumento na produtividade em todas as regiÃes brasileiras a partir de 2003 deveu-se aos acrÃscimos nos retornos mÃdios provenientes da educaÃÃo dos trabalhadores.
