Previous issue date: 2011 / This work is about the diaries of Carolina Maria de Jesus de Jesus - Child of the dark, Bitita´s diary, I´m going to have a little house, My stranger diary, and its way of representation in the write of the self. The books in analyses belong to the autobiographical genre of Literature showing the daily life of the author and her life at Canindé, shantytown of Sao Paulo. The author tells about her own history as a tramp, from her poor childhood in Minas Gerais to the release of her book and immediate negligence towards her literary production. She cites the poverty, misery and hunger lived under the sight of a Brazil deceived by the golden years and its promises of progress. So, she exposes life in the shantytown, and also the reality in what the excluded people are in. This way she puts in her text issues discussed by multicultural studies, which polemize and rebound at the international and Brazilian literary scenery. As a result, this research discuss the author‟s narrative strength as a character of her diaries, representing the shantytown and the voice of the minority at the place historically occupied by elites: the literary writing. / Este trabalho trata dos diários de Carolina Maria de Jesus, Quarto de despejo: diário de uma favelada; Diário de Bitita; Casa de Alvenaria, e o seu modo de representação na escrita de si. As obras em análise pertencem ao gênero autobiográfico da literatura apresentando o cotidiano da autora e sua vida no Canindé, favela de São Paulo. A autora conta sua história de andarilha, desde a infância pobre em Minas Gerais ao ápice do lançamento de seu livro e esquecimento do público em relação à sua produção literária. Aponta a pobreza, a miséria e a fome vividas sob o olhar de um Brasil iludido pelos anos dourados e suas promessas de progresso. Desnuda a vida na favela, a realidade crua de quem vive excluído. Dessa maneira, insere em seu texto questões discutidas pelos estudos multiculturais, as quais polemizam e repercutem no cenário literário brasileiro e internacional. Em consequência disso, a pesquisa discute a força narrativa da autora como personagem dos seus diários, representando a favela e a voz das minorias frente ao lugar, historicamente, ocupado pelas elites: a escrita literária.
