Previous issue date: 2011 / The following study aims to evaluate the Metatheory of Interfaces (CAMPOS, 2007) as a research program to tackle complex and interdisciplinary problems, such as inferential processes, specifically the relationship between language and emotions. For this theoretical study, we assume an interdisciplinary approach by interfaces, which build perspectives on the complex object in order to observe different properties on the semantic-pragmatic language of emotions. Therefore, the study seeks to: (a) describe the interface between language, logic and emotions in order to demonstrate how inferential arguments — based on Grice’s (1957/1975) and Levinson’s (2000) theories — may be affected by assumptions consisting of emotional scales; (b) discuss the notion of relevance proposed by Sperber & Wiison (1995), in order to demonstrate the existence of emotional benefits in speech, often caused by the form of expression, and not its content; (c) address the notion of intent within the semantic-pragmatic studies, expanding the traditional concept from Costa’s (in press) approach. In general, the interfaces built point to the need for more studies of the properties of language and emotion, in order to achieve an approach of the human inferential communication with a more descriptive and explanatory capacity. We show that the Metatheory of Interfaces is appropriate to reorganize the Science of Language as well as interdisciplinary studies, linking foundations and potentials of applications of incommensurable perspectives in a theoretical level. / O seguinte estudo tem como objetivo avaliar o programa de investigação da Metateoria das Interfaces, de Campos (2007), para a abordagem de problemas complexos e interdisciplinares, como é o caso dos processos inferenciais, mais especificamente a relação entre linguagem e emoções. Para o estudo de cunho teórico-bibliográfico ser possível, assume-se uma metodologia interdisciplinar por interfaces, em que se constroem perspectivas sobre o objeto complexo, a fim de observar diferentes propriedades semântico-pragmáticas sobre a linguagem das emoções. Assim, o trabalho busca: (a) descrever a interface entre linguagem, lógica e emoções, com o intuito de demonstrar de que forma argumentos inferenciais, baseados nas teorias de Grice (1957/1975) e Levinson (2000), podem ser afetados por premissas emocionais, compostas por escalas de palavras de emoção; (b) problematizar a noção de relevância proposta por Sperber & Wilson (1995) ao demonstrar a existência de beneficios emocionais no discurso, muitas vezes causados pela forma da expressão, e não pelo conteúdo; (c) abordar a noção de intenção dentro dos estudos semântico-pragmáticos, ampliando o conceito tradicional a partir dos apontamentos de Costa (2012). De uma maneira geral, as interfaces construídas no trabalho apontam para a necessidade de mais estudos envolvendo as propriedades linguísticas e emocionais a fim de que se construa uma abordagem com maior capacidade descritivo-explanatória sobre a comunicação inferencial humana. Demonstrou-se também que a Metateoria das Interfaces é adequada para reorganizar a Ciência da Linguagem e os estudos interdisciplinares, relacionando fundamentos e potenciais de aplicação de perspectivas incomensuráveis ao nível teórico.
