Previous issue date: 2007 / The thesis entitled: “Monotonic Infancies –a rhapsody of Hope” is a psychosocial and critic cultural study on the representations of the other in the writings of childhood. It contemplates through analysis childhood distinct spaces and ties: the children from Terezin ghetto, located near Prague, during Second World War, and those from “Vila Princesa”, situated in the surroundings of Pelotas, in the present days. It takes as basis the theory of the Social Representations of Serge Moscovici, in constant interlocution with other theories and fields of Knowledge, especially using the contributions of Walter Benjamin, searching for the defense of a Social Psychology that, on the contours of ethics and esthetics, establishes through the alterity enabled by childhood as a science of “in between”, a “science of dangerous truths. The “surrealization” of research writings as a resource of presentation, and its epistemic and methodological support, lead to the theoretical treatment of data analysis under this perspective, sustaining the thesis that conceives the poetics as one of the translating axis of the cultures of the infancies. Infancies that in a musical metaphor are defended as monotonic and through the principle of hope given as a continuum. / A tese “Infâncias Monotônicas - uma rapsódia da Esperança” é um estudo psicossocial e cultural crítico sobre as representações do outro na escrita da infância. Contempla, pela análise, dois espaços e tempos da infância distintos: as crianças do gueto de Terezin, situado próxima à cidade de Praga, no período da Segunda Guerra Mundial, e as crianças da Vila Princesa, localizada na periferia da cidade de Pelotas, em nossos dias. Toma como base a teoria das Representações Sociais de Serge Moscovici, na interlocução constante com outras teorias e campos de conhecimento, especialmente utilizando as contribuições de Walter Benjamin, buscando a defesa de uma Psicologia Social, que pelos contornos da ética e da estética afirme-se através da alteridade que a infância possibilita, como uma ciência do “entre”, uma “ciência de verdades perigosas”. A “surrealização” da escrita de pesquisa como recurso de apresentação, e seu amparo epistemo e metodológico conduz ao tratamento teórico de análise dos dados nesta perspectiva, sustentando a tese que concebe a poética como um dos eixos tradutores das culturas das infâncias. Infâncias que em metáfora musical são defendidas como monotônicas e pelo princípio da esperança dadas como um continuum.
