La croissance accélérée de la zone métropolitaine de Monterrey a soulevé diverses problématiques économiques, sociales et environnementales. Une de ces inquiétudes est l'approvisionnement en aliments frais des citadins, surtout en contexte de perturbation des chaînes d'approvisionnement mondiales avec la pandémie de la COVID-19. Ainsi, cette recherche avait pour but d'analyser les opportunités offertes par l'agriculture urbaine communautaire dans cette région, à la fois comme une stratégie d'accès aux aliments frais locaux et comme lieu où se tissent les solidarités entre les femmes jardinières. Les zones d'étude sont les municipalités de San Pedro Garza Garcia et San Nicolas de los Garza, situées à l'intérieur de la zone métropolitaine de Monterrey. D'abord, l'analyse a été faite à travers le cadre conceptuel des moyens de vie d'existence durables. Puis, les résultats obtenus nous ont permis de relever que les jardiniers urbains, étant presqu'exclusivement des femmes, avaient un grand intérêt à participer à cette activité principalement pour les bienfaits sociaux qu'ils y trouvent. Pour les jardiniers, les liens de partage, l'aspect communautaire et l'identification à un groupe provoquent un sentiment de bien-être et d'appartenance, surtout en contexte pandémique. Cela se répercute dans leur estime de soi et également dans leur qualité de vie. Par rapport à l'impact de l'agriculture urbaine dans la sécurité alimentaire des jardinières, on a constaté que cette activité contribue à leur alimentation, mais ne comble pas tous leurs besoins alimentaires. Ainsi, cette recherche apporte une perspective de la situation durant la pandémie (2020-2021) de l'agriculture urbaine à San Pedro Garza García et à San Nicolas de los Garza de façon générale ; il faudrait davantage de recherches pour mesurer la contribution de cette activité dans les divers aspects qui touchent le cadre conceptuel des moyens de vie durables tels que l'aspect social, naturel, financier, humain et physique. / The accelerated growth of the Monterrey metropolitan area has raised various economic, social and environmental concerns. One of these concerns is also the supply of fresh food to city dwellers, especially in the context of the disruption of global supply chains with the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, the purpose of this research was to analyze the opportunities offered by community-based urban agriculture in this region, both as a strategy for accessing fresh local food and as a place where solidarity among women gardeners is forged. The study areas are the municipalities of San Pedro Garza García and San Nicolas de los Garza, located within the Monterrey metropolitan area. First, the analysis was made through the conceptual framework of sustainable livelihoods. Then, the results obtained allowed us to note that the urban gardeners, being almost exclusively women, had a great interest in participating in this activity mainly for the social benefits they find in it. For them, the sharing links, the community aspect and the identification with a group provoke a feeling of well-being and belonging, especially in a pandemic context. This has an impact on their self-esteem and their quality of life. In relation to the impact of urban agriculture in the food security of the gardeners, it was found that this activity contributes to their nutrition but does not meet all their food needs. Thus, this research provides a perspective of the situation during the pandemic (2020-2021) of urban agriculture in San Pedro Garza García and San Nicolas de los Garza in general; more research is needed to measure the contribution of this activity in the various aspects that affect the conceptual framework of sustainable livelihoods such as the social, natural, financial, human and physical aspect.
