A Study of Work Values And Career Adjustment for Female CEOs In the Information Software Industry

In the knowledge economy era, the success of information software companies requires leaders who are not only creative and open but also resilient to stress and tough challenges. Thus, how female CEOs bring their skills to overcome various challenges is a critical area of study. In this thesis, in-depth interviews with five female CEOs are conducted to understand their work values and career adjustment strategies. The results show that, first, the most important working values of these five CEOs are self-growth and social bilateral reaction.
Next, these five CEOs engage themselves heavily in self-management, continuously set higher goals and standards to fight any possible sex biases. Lastly, the resolution of between work and family require the female CEOs a delicate balance.
