El bienestar es un proceso importante en la literatura académica. Se inicia con la fijación de metas, decisión vinculada a valores. Los participantes representan a una clase media emergente. En esa línea, el objetivo del estudio es identificar la estructura émica de necesidades y valores de los residentes y corredores de piques ilegales en Lima Norte. Para ello se desarrolló un estudio émico en el que se realizó observación participante, 6 entrevistas etnográficas y 16 entrevistas a profundidad con alternativa de respuesta abierta para explorar las necesidades y valores de la muestra en estudio.
Los participantes practican un deporte occidental moderno pero en ellos se encontró una estructura de bienestar emergente propia de su psicohistoria. Las metas más importantes para los participantes son: compartir tiempo y actividades junto a la familia, a los amigos, y tener un auto para correr piques. Además, los valores de la muestra son: capacidad para salir adelante a pesar de problemas, brindar cuidados materiales, y emocionales a los hijos. La evidencia sugiere que los corredores de piques ilegales en Lima Norte se encuentran satisfechos con sus necesidades más importantes. Los valores corresponden a un perfil tradicional enfocado en la familia y el progreso. Los piques ilegales se estructuran en base a estos patrones y constituyen una fuente de bienestar basados en una relación colectivista. La comparación social con sus propios referentes evitaría la discriminación. / Well-being is an important process in the academic literature. It starts with goal setting, decision connected with values. Participants represent the emerging middle class. The objective of the study is to identify the emic structure of needs and values of residents and competitors of illegal racings on North of Lima. It was made an emic study in it was applied participant observation, 6 ethnographic interviews and 16 depth interviews with open-ended questions to explore the needs and values of the sample study.
The participants play a modern western sport but it was found that they have awell-being structure of its own psychohistory. The most important goals for participants are sharing time and activities with family, with friends, and have a car to run illegal racings. Furthermore, the values found in the sample were: ability to succeed despite problems, provide material, and emotional care for children. Evidence suggests that competitors of illegal racings on North of Lima are satisfied with their most important needs. The values correspond to a traditional profile focused in their family and progress. Illegal racings are structured based on these patterns and are a source of welfare based on a collectivist relationship. Social comparison with their own referents avoids discrimination. / Tesis
