La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo describir las representaciones sociales de la virginidad en un grupo de adolescentes del distrito de San Juan de Lurigancho (SJL). Asimismo, como objetivos específicos se plantearon explicar cómo se organizan dichas representaciones e identificar posibles diferencias por sexo. Las y los participantes estuvieron conformados por 18 adolescentes (8 =h y 10 = m) cuyas edades comprendieron entre 14 y 17 años y quienes residían en una misma asociación de viviendas. Se partió desde el conocimiento de las representaciones sociales, entendidas como el saber común de un grupo, el cual permite poder comprender un fenómeno específico. Para ello, se utilizaron: una entrevista semi estructurada diseñada para los propósitos de la investigación y soportes gráficos. A partir de los resultados, se encontró que para las y los participantes, el concepto de virginidad estaría centralizado en el cuerpo femenino, la cual se encontraría envuelta en juicios de valor y estereotipos. Asimismo, guardaría una estrecha relación hacia la naturalización del género binario, es decir considerar a los hombres masculinos y las mujeres femeninas. Sumado a ello, se hallaron sentimientos de miedo y culpa respecto al inicio de la vivencia de la sexualidad. Finalmente, un hallazgo importante fue la invisibilización hacia una posible violencia simbólica, entendiéndola como un tipo de violencia implícita, interiorizada y aceptada por quienes la sufren. / This research aimed to described the social representations of virginity in a group of teenagers rom San Juan de Lurigancho (SJL). Also, specific objectives were raised to explain the organization of these and identify potential gender differences. The participants were composed of 18 dolescents (8=m 10 =f) whose ages ranged between 14 and 17 and were residents of the same housing association. The investigation started from the knowledge of social representations, understood as the common knowledge of a group, which allows to understand a specific phenomenon. The present study arose out of an exploratory qualitative approach, in which a semi-structured interview was designed for research purposes and graphics were used to support the investigation. From the results, it was found that for the participants, the concept of virginity was centralized in the female body, which was wrapped around value judgments and stereotypes. It´s also in close relation to the naturalization of gender binary, which means, considering men as masculine and women as feminine. Furthermore, feelings of fear and guilt were found regarding the beginning of the experience of sexuality. Finally, one of the most important findings were a possible symbolic violence, understanding as an implicit, internalized and accepted violence by those who suffer it. / Tesis
