Este trabajo de investigación analiza la posible existencia de restricciones sobre
el crecimiento económico del Perú para el periodo de 1990-2018. Esto se debe
a que el país tiene dependencia del sector externo. Por lo tanto, se tiene como
objetivo determinar una tasa de crecimiento teórica que captura los efectos
restrictivos de la balanza de pagos en base a la teoría del crecimiento dirigida
por la demanda. Se tomará como base un modelo especificado por Blecker,
Ibarra (2015), en el cual las importaciones están desagregadas por intermedias
y finales. Se utilizará el método ARDL para poder estimar las elasticidades de
demanda por importaciones y exportaciones para poder sustentar nuestros
objetivos. Se espera encontrar que el crecimiento económico efectivamente se
encuentra restringido por la balanza de pagos. / This research work analyzes the possible existence of restrictions on the
economic growth of Peru for the period of 1990-2018. This is because the country
is dependent on the external sector. Therefore, the objective is to determine a
theoretical growth rate that captures the restrictive effects of the balance of
payments based on the theory of growth driven by demand. It will be based on a
model specified by Blecker, Ibarra (2015), in which imports are disaggregated by
intermediate and final. The ARDL method will be used to estimate the elasticities
of demand for imports and exports in order to support our objectives. Economic
growth is expected to be effectively constrained by the balance of payments.
