碩士 / 文化大學 / 美國研究所 / 81 / This thesis is focus on discussion the trend of Taiwan''s, and
Mainland China''s labor intensive industry products exported to
the United States. There are two industries- textile and
clothing industries- used as examples to be discussed. The
export of textile and clothing industries to U.S. has close
relationship with the policy of American government. Since
1980s, U.S. government has taken off Taiwan''s MFN (most
favored nation treatment). But in the meantime, PRC has enjoyed
MFN treatment since 1980s. Therefore, the exporting criteria
between the two areas is quite different. In the other words,
the two areas become competitive with each other under
different treatment issued by U.S. The exported quantity of
clothing industry is larger than that of textile industry. And
from many indexes, such as, Revealed Comparative Advantage、
Growth Rate、Annual Growth Rate、and Spearman Rank, we discover
that the competitivity between colthing industry is more
serious than that of textile industry.
