New-Town manufacturing industries in Taiwan, the chara-
cteristics of growth in Taipei Metropolitan Area from 1981 to
1991, and the development policy to guide Tan-Hai New Town
planning function. In addition, location factors of manufac-
turing industries will be investigated to find the suitable
kind of manufacturing industries to be induced in the proper
location. In accordance with the analysis mentioned in the
above chapters, conclusions are made as follows: 1.During
1981-1991, the growth rate of the urban technical manufacturing
industries is higher than that of others. 2.In 1991, there were
many manufacturing factories with the same characteristics in
Taipei Metropolitan Area. 3.Considering the elements of
factories located in Taipei Metropolitan Area, the main
locational factors are land price, traffic convenience and the
whole development policy. 4.The suitable kinds of manufacturing
industry and the proper location in Tan-Hai New Town are: (1)
Electrical and Electronic Machinery and Equipment: Taipei
Municipality, Yungho Shih, Shenkeng Hsiang, Shihmen Hsiang,
Sanchin Hsiang. (2) Precision Instruments: Taipei Municipality,
Shenkeng Hsiang, Banchiao Shih, Hsinchuang Shih. (3) Transport
Equipment: Taipei Municipality, Hsintien Shih, Sanchin Hsiang.
(4) Wearing Apparel, Accessories: Taipei Municipality, Yungho
Shih, Banchiao Shih. (5) Machinery and Equipment: Hsintien
Shih, Shenkeng Hsiang, Sanchung Shih.
