PAHs Analysis in North Shore Soils by Solid Phase Extraction Gas Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry / 以固相萃取,氣相層析及質譜檢測北海岸土壤中多苯環芳香烴

碩士 / 輔仁大學 / 化學學系 / 82 / Polyaromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) were determined in the soils at
Northern Seashore with high probability of occurrence of these
pollutants for two reasons.First reason is that, north shore is
an important touring and sightseeing area, vehicles in uge
number pass by there frequently.Secondly, this is also a popular
boat-fishing area. Both make up a convenient source for coastal
pollution. In fact,PAHs come from incomplete combustion of
hydrocarbons.Nowadays, our energy is still so dependent on
petroleum fuel,it is therefore believed, high concentration of
PAHs is associated in the vicinity of boat or motor vehicle
exhaust. The objective of this research was to find a clean-
uprocedure which is simple, fast and at the same time cut down
the amount of solvent usage. The resultant PAH compounds and
their derivatives were then characterized by gas chromatography
(GC)and mass spectrometry(MS) to determine the identity and
concentrations at selectd locations. The clean-up cartridge
used in this study was a silica gel type solid phase extraction(
SPE)tube.By stepwise elution, the soil extract was able to
speciate into three categories,i.e. aliphatics(A1 fraction),
neutral PAHs(A2 Fraction) and nitro-, oxyl-PAHs(A3 fraction),
according to their functional groups.
