碩士 / 國立成功大學 / 工業設計研究所 / 82 / A study for representation of underwater-hull shape by means of
B-spline curves has been developed. The configuration of a
underwater-hull is constructed wish B-spline curves by setting
the shape of its cross sections at different positions along
the longitudinal axis(z-axis).A computer program is built base
on the above mentioned technique to help the designer to creat
a underwater-hull in a short time. In addition to the method of
setting the cross section shape at different position, the form
of underwater-hull can also be controlled by inserting a new
section between two different sections or by changing the
distance between two adjacent sections. The nose shape of the
underwater-hull can also be modified by setting the tangent
vector or curvature at the nose. After the formation of the
hull is constructed, a 2-D grid mesh for the environment around
the hull, which will be affected by the underwater-hull when
the hull is moving in the water can be generated with another
program built in this study based on the body-fitted
curvilinear coordinate system. The generated grid mesh can be
used to analyze the drag coefficient of the hull, which is not
included in this study. Finally, some hull configurations are
constructed with the form generating program and then the grid
mesh of the environment around the hull is generated with the
mesh generation program. They are well under control , and the
feasibility of applying these techniques to shape design for a
underwater-hull is demonstrated.
