碩士 / 國立中興大學 / 土木工程研究所 / 83 / The objective of the studies presented in this thesis is to
investigate the resistant capacity of wooden shores used
for formwork support during construction. To
simulate real construction conditions, a series
of experimental researches were carried out in the
laboratory. It includes tests on basic mechanical
properties of wood, single vertical and inclined wooden
shores with a variety of lengths, lap spliced shores,
and a support system w ith multiple shores. Results
obtained from the tests show that the basic mechanical
properties can provide important information on analysis and
design of wooden shoring supports. The Euler buckling equation
is also suitable for prediction of buckling loads of single
wooden shores of various lengths. The use of lap
spliced shores will cause a large displacement at the
overlapping area, such that the load-carrying capacity
should be controlled by the allowable d isplacement
depending on the formwork requirement. The average load-
carrying capacity of a support system with multiple
shores is less than that of a single wooden shore. Based
on the experimental results, a better and relatively easy
set-up support system is proposed.
