碩士 / 國立成功大學 / 資源工程學系 / 83 / In costal areas, the periodic rise and fall of tide water stage in the ocean produces sinusoidal-like ground-water-level fluctuations in adjacent aquifers. In order to investigate the wave propagation in aquifers, a field observation was made in water wells on Lan Yu island. The field data show that the amplitude of the wave decreases as it travels from the seashore toward inland. The time lag of the wave increases as the distance from the seashore increases. The data were then verified by a mathematical model using image wells to simulate the irregularly shaped seashore. Matching the field data with the mathematical model aquifer parameters such as, storage coefficient and transmissivity were determined.
