The Influence of an Artificially Stabilized Tidal Inlet on the / 高雄一港口航道對近岸沉積物分佈的影響

碩士 / 國立中山大學 / 海洋地質研究所 / 83 / (1).Very coarse group (1.68-0.84 mm): This group is relatively
scarce in the studyarea. They only appear in the location
corresponding tothe sour pit immediately seaward of the inlet
entrance. Thisgroup is analogous to a lag deposit resulting
from the energeticwave-current interactions seaward of the
inlet mouth. (2).Coarse group (0.71-0.50 mm): This group mainly
concentrates in the areaseaward of the scour pit, forming a
north-south orientedellipsoidal pattern. It is believed to
reflect the main influence of longshore currents and tidal
currents. (3).Medium group (0.42-0.30 mm): The pattern of this
group reflects the influence of wave-induced longshore
currents. South of the inlet mouth, this group appears as a
narrow longshore band coinciding with the location of a
transverse bar system and the inner surf zone within 7 m
isobath. This band deflects seaward at the inlet mouth and
becomes diffused north of the inlet mouth. (4).Equilibrium
group (0.25 and 0.21 mm): This two size classes are the
mostabundant sizes in the study area, whose distribution
patterns are the most homogeneous in the system. This suggests
that this two sizes are subject to all wave- and tide-related
hydrodynamic processes in the study area. (5).Fine group
(0.18-0.125 mm): This group is mainly concentra- ted on the
middle shoreface south of the inlet, in the outer harbor, and
in Hsi-tze Bay. This group and the previous group might be the
primary groups that are trapped by the inlet. (6).The vary fine
group (0.11-<0.063 mm): They are concentrated in the shallow
areas in the outer harbor, and on the lower shoreface south of
the inlet mouth. This group is highly concentrated in the inner
harbor, which suggests a land- derived origin. Also, the
distribution pattern of this group shows distinctive plume
shapes existing the inlet mouth and deflected northward.
