碩士 / 國立海洋大學 / 水產養殖學系 / 83 / This experiment is to investigate the availability of by-product of stockbreeding-liver powder as a protein source to replace fish meal for Tilapia culture. The content of crude protein in experimental diet is to maintain 30% The experimental diets for red tilapia divide into seven groups Addition of liver powder to replace fish meal in experimental diets are 0%, 16.67%, 33.33%, 50%, 66.68%, 83.35%, 100% respectively Energy content in experimental diets is 360 Kcal/100g in all groups. The intial wet body weight of red tilapia is 1.4±0.5g.
After feeding period of sixty days, the average percentage of fish increasing wet body weight; feed conversion ratio; survival rates and apparent degestibility of seven treatments are significant, and the result of the group of No.5 contains 66.68% of liver powder is the best among seven experimental dietary groups.
From the view point of apparent digestibility, in contrast to the control group (fish meal group), tilapia have a good digestibility for other six groups of experimental diets; and as the increasing content of liver powder to replace fish meal in experimental diets, HSI and Glycogen content of experimental fish is decreasing. From this point of view, we found that red tilapia is available to use liver powder to construct its tissue, and to use liver powder as energy source is low .
Thus, it is reasonable to conclude that liver powder as a feedstuff for red tilapia is a good protein soruce, and it can replace fish meal as high as 66.68%; it also means replacement of 60% dietary protein. Therefore, liver powder is available to replace fish meal in the diets of tilapia; and in the of development of feedstuff and new protin source for aquaculture is worthy to develope in the future.
