The Cognition of Visual Factors in Poster Design -A Case Study of Taiwan Image Poster Design- / 海報視覺認知因素之研究-以台灣印象海報設計為例

碩士 / 國立臺灣科技大學 / 工程技術研究所 / 83 / This study is based on a series of poster designs of "Taiwan
Image" from 1991 to 1994. The objective is to study how people
recognize these self-created posters which are purposely a
reflection of Taiwanese culture. Through the process of
recognition, we intend to organize the reasons for designing
such posters and find out design characteristics in effort to
improve the quality of poster design in Taiwan. In the
beginning, we try to recognize a theory, and develop it through
the views of Communication Technology. The purpose is to
explain the relationship between code (symbol) organizers and
code(symbol) receivers-how the designers designs and the
receiver receives based on Com- munication Technology. The
methods of this study included Projection Experiment ,
Interview, Questionnaire and Multidimensional Scaling, and we
proceeded in three steps: Step 1 is to study the preference of
different poster types. Step 2 is to proceed with the
Projection Experiment, to interview the poster designers and
conduct the surveys. Step 3 is to evaluate the similarity and
to test the pre- ferences by 16 sampled posters.
