碩士 / 國立臺灣科技大學 / 機械工程研究所 / 83 / Complex wake will be generated when flow over the in-line fin
arrays. It can destroy the growth of the boundary layer of the
downstream fin,and has the effects of mixing up the flow field
which enhances the heat transfer rate. However,if the distance
between the upstream and downstream fins is too close, the
above mentioned mechanism for the heat transfer enhancement of
the downstream fin will not present, and the downstream fin
will have less heat transfer ability than the upstream fin
because it is immersed in a hotter enviroment than the
upstream fin. In the study, the effects of Reynolds number, the
fin distance, and the fin thickness to the heat transfer rate
of two in-line fin arrays were presented. The heat transfer
rate of the downstream fin lie in the wake of the upstream fin
was investigated. In the investigations, with the increasing of
Reynolds number, the vortex shedding induced by the change
of fin thickness, fins' distance have great effects to
the heat transfer efficiency of the fin arrays.
