banks in overseas establishments. Up to most recent,banks in
Taiwan use very subjective judgemental approach in selecting
their overseas establishments with limited information. This
paper will use Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) to investi- gate
major factors and priorities in selection problem. At first, we
structure decision hierarchy through literature review and
expert interview. Then,we collect data for level-wise
comparison. Direct comparison and pairwise comparison will be
applied in the paper. In Southeast Asia, we chose six available
cities for re- search. Major findings are as follows: 1.Major
criterias for Overseas Establishment Selection Problem of the
Banks In Taiwan(OESP-BIT) in accordance with their impor- tance
are :(1).Political and economical situation;(2).Market
condition;(3).Financial system and tax burden;(4).Fincial en-
vironment;(5).Social culture and local staff. 2.It is very
similar in AHP result for banks with overseas esta- blishments
and without overseas establishment. 3.The solution for OESP-BIT
in Southeast Asia is, Best site: Hongkong 2nd: Singpore 3rd:
Bangkok 4th: Jakarta 5th: Manila 6th: Ho Chi Minh
