The Effects of Submerged Dikes on The Seawall Runup of Random Waves / 潛堤併用於海堤時隨機波浪之溯升試驗研究

碩士 / 國立成功大學 / 水利及海洋工程學系 / 84 / Runup is an important factor in determining the height of
the seawalls. In the recent years, due to the demand of life
quality, the engineering techniquesin submerged dikes become more
emphasized. Therefore, the arrangment of sub-merged dikes
becomes more important in design of marine structures. The
pur-pose of this study lies on establishing the relationship
between Runup and thearrangment of submerged dikes by modeling
test approach. 3 dfferent t seawallslopes (1:1,1:1.5,1:2) with
3 different seawall toe elevations (0 m,1 m,2 m)and 3
differant distances between seawalls and submerged dikes (50
m,75 m, nosubmerged dikes). With the Statistical analysis and
Spectrum analysis approach, the data from modeling test were
discussed. For the Statistical analysis as-pect, Rayleigh
distribution and Weibull distribution were selected to
comparethe goodness of fitting. With the conclusion that Weibull
distribution is wellfitted, the relationship between the height
of seawalls and the probability ofovertopping could thus be
constructed. By using the formulas derived by DeWaal and Van
der Meer, he mean discharge of overtopping could be gained.
Themean period of overtopping were also discussed from the view
of return period. For the Spectrum analysis aspect, with
transforming the data to frequency do-main, the change of peak
frequency could be reviled. In conclusion, the pro-bablity of
overtopping and mean overtopping discharge are minimum when
thedistane between submerged dikes and the coast line is 50 m,
whereas the averageovertopping period is maximum. The result of
Spectrum analysis shows that thepeak of run up spectrum and
incident wave spectrum are consensus. When thedistance
between submerged dikes and the coast line is 50 m, the
spectrumdenity is minimum. The result of the study is useful for
deign submerged dikes.
