碩士 / 國立中山大學 / 大陸研究所 / 84 / This paper uses Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to approach
the industrial economic efficiency of the expanding cities
of China and Taiwan in 1993. We could understand each city''s
perfor- ance as well as to identify technical efficiency; the
realation- ship between inputs and output; returns-to-scale
possibilities. The major conclusions found in this paper are as
follows: The cities of China 1)..The discrepancy of economic
performance between cities is significant; 2)..Early developed
cities'' returns-to-scale are decreasing; 3)..The efficiency of
cities with output over ten billion are not good; 4)..The major
effect factors of industrial economic efficiency are technical
efficiency and scale efficiency. The cities of Taiwan 1)..The
returns-to-scale of Tainanshien and Changhuashien are
decreasing; 2)..The discrepancy of economic performance between
cities is not significant; 3)..The major effect factor of
industrial economic efficiency is technical efficiency. Compare
China and Taiwan 1)..Taiwan cities'' industrial economic
efficiency is better than China''s; 2)..The major effect factor
of performance''s discrepancy between China and Taiwan is
technical efficiency.
