empty / 影響澳洲球形海綿(Cinachyraaustraliensis)濾食速率因子之探討

碩士 / 國立中山大學 / 海洋資源學系 / 84 / The object of this research is to study the effects of
environmental factors on the filtering performance of the
sponge Cinachyra australiensis ( Carter ). The sponge C.
australiensis was collected by either wading or skin diving
from the intertidal pools in the Wanlitong in the
Hengchun Peninsula, southern Taiwan. The algae Isocrysis
galbana was used as food particles, its concentration was
calculated from the absorption measured at wave length of
686 nm, useing the spectrophotometer HITACHI U-3210. In t
he preliminary study showed that clearance rate of sponge was
negatively correlated with both algae concentration and body
size. In addition, every individual sponge varied in its
clearance rate from time to time. The combination of three
different temperatures (21, 26, 31℃ ) and three different
salinities (22, 33, 44 ppt) were used to study the effects of
salinities and temperatures on the filtering performance of
sponge, Cinachyra australiensis In each combination,
twelve individuals of 6 to 10 g in dried weight were used and
the initial algal concentration was fixed at 7.5 × 105 cells/
ml. The study showed that the clearance rate had positive
relationships with temperatures regardless of salinities.
The clearance rate was decreased when the salinitiy was
either increased to 44 ppt or decreased to 22 ppt from 33
ppt in all temperatures regimes. The fact suggested that the
33 ppt is the optimal salinity. The sponges, however,
acclimate to the lower salinity condition more quickly than to
the higher salinity since the clearance rate of sponges in 22
ppt recovered 90 % of that in environmental factors.
