marine parts database system by using the theory of object-
oriented method and database.This system can be divided two
parts.(1) Marine parts query system (includes circulating system
query and parts query). Marine system query classifies every
single system according to marine design and construction
principles, and it uses the class hierarchy of object-
oriented method to enable inquires to obtain information
stored in common database system.Parts query is divides by
types and performance to auxiliary marine system query .It can
be reference for selection of alternative parts in system
query.(2) Intergrated bills of material for marine engineering
parts system. The bills of material represent key information
in a shipyard. Most of the information is related to other
departments ; shch as marine design department, marine
mamagement department, marine manufacturing department.
This BOM system expands into four parts, single-level BOM,
multi-level BOM,summary BOM,tree structure BOM. Meanwhile,the
information can supply reference needed by every department
of shipyard through network . Futhermore , this system is
developed under multi-process windows envirment. This system
will be provide plenty useful reference for speeding up the
automation progress of shipyard. Besides,this system will be
developed as a basis of ship concurrent engineering.
