Effects on the growth and disease resistance of Penaeus monodon juveniles by supplementation of squid viscera meal, algal meals and Negarich / 飼料中烏賊內臟粉,數種藻粉及利佳畜肥的添加對草蝦幼蝦在成長與抗病力之影嚮

碩士 / 國立臺灣大學 / 漁業學系 / 84 / The study was conducted to evaluate the effect of squid visce-
ra meal, algal meals and Negarich(wood extraction)
supplementation on growth and disease resistance of Penaeus
monodon juveniles. The experiment was performed in three parts.
Firstly, the effect on growth of P.monodon juveniles by
supplement of commercial squ- id viscera meal( squid viscera/
soybean meal=1:1),squid viscera meal( dry squid viscera
/soybean meal=1:1) and five algal meals (Ulva,Gracilaria,
Nannochloropsis,Chlorella and Spirulina)in diets were
investigated. After six weeks feeding trial, the shrimps fed with
2.5% Nannochloropsis diet and 5% commercial squid viscera meal
diet had better growth performance than the other groups.
Secondly, the optimum requirement of dry squid viscera meal and
the two algal meals(Gracilaria and Nannochloropsis) in diets
for P.monodon juveniles was designed.Meanwhile, the growth
effect of Negarich was also studied. After eight weeks feeding
trial,wt the squid viscera meal groups, the 5% commercial squid
viscera meal diet displayed the most pronounced effect on
growth. It''s found that the growth of shrimps decreased as the
amount of dry squid viscera meal increased in diets. The,shrimps
fed with 2.5% and 5% Nannochloropsis diets had better growth
performance.In addition,1.5%Negarich diet revealed better
effect on growth. Thirdly, disease resistance of shrimps fed
with Gracilaria, Nannochloropsis and Negarich groups were
studied by experiment -ally oral infected with white spot
syndrome virus,WSSV.Detection of WSSV in shrimps were
proceeding by using the polymerase chain reaction and the WSSV
DNA specific primers set,146F1 and 146R1.As a results,within
the control groups, the shrimps fed with algal meals and
Negarich were not infected with WSSV, while the 5% com- mercial
squid viscera meal group had 50% infectivity.Within the
experiment infected groups, the shrimps fed with the 1.5%
Negarich and 10% Gracilaria diets were not infected with WSSV.
