The removal of algal extracellular product / 藻類胞外產物去除方法之研究

碩士 / 國立臺灣大學 / 環境工程研究所 / 84 / Algae has been a serious problem in drinking water treatment.
Some research reports that algae itself and its extracellular
product(ECP) can produce THMs after chlorination. The amount of
algal ECP(indicated as TOC) increases with the cultivation time.
This study is trying to remove ECP to reduce the production of
THMs by using Ozonation,Granular Activated Carbon(GAC)and
Biological Activated Carbon(BAC).Under the controled
experimental condition,Ozonation proves the best removal
efficiency for ECP,while BAC is the worst. The effect of
ozonation increases with the higher pH value, while GAC has the
best at pH=4.0 and has not so obviously difference between
pH=6.6 and 9.0.Nevertheless,the BAC's effect is increasing as
the pH value is decreased. In addition,GAC and BAC both have
better efficiency when the temperature is increased. In the Gel
Filtration Chromatography(GFC)test,GAC has worse removal
efficiency with larger molecule matter than the smaller one,
while BAC has not so obviously difference. The object had been
changed to the larger molecule matter laterly. As to the
control of THMs,the effect is obviously high by removing
precursors of THMs.The reduction efficiency of THMFP is higher
than the removal of TOC with these three treatment methods.
However,Ozonation has the best effect compared with GAC and BAC,
and BAC reveal the worst.
