Factors Affecting the Use of Information Technology in Logistic Industries: A Study of Large Retailors in Taiwan / 影響新型流通業引進資訊科技之因素研究--以綜合零售業為例

changing ofconsumer''s need, the competition is so fierce that a
restructure ofdistribution channel has become essential for a
business to sustain itsstrength in the global market. To do so ,
the logistics industries have paidthe distribution channels. The
applying of the information system to managegoods, customers,
works, as well as information will definitely help thebusiness
to regain the competitive advantages. This study aims at
examining factors affecting the use of informationtechnology in
the logistic industries. We look into factors from
threedimensions such as organizational structure, industrial
conditions andbusiness climate. First, we devise a framework to
address the relationshipsof the affecting factors. With this
framework, we then proposal researchhypothesis. The results of
the mail survey show that types of organization structure,effort
of champion, top-level manager support, revenue, numbers
ofapplication system, and the alignment with foreign enterprise
would affectthe adoption of information technology. In
addition, the IS profiles of logistic industries are also
addressed.
