Using well log data to estimate the deep formation permeability in Taiwan area / 以井測資料估算台灣海域深部地層滲透率之研究

碩士 / 國立成功大學 / 資源工程學系 / 85 / AbstractVarious permeability models using well log data can be
used to estimate the formation permeability. However the
constant parameters in these models depend highly on the area
and formation to be studied. The purpose of this study is to
derive the permeability models ( or to find the constant
parameters of various models ) for the deep formations in
southern Taiwan area. When the models are derived , the
permeabilities can be estimated continuously for each depth if
the continuous well log data is obtained.Well logging data of
the deep formation ( 3200 ft ~ 3400 ft ) from four wells ( X-9 ,
X-10 , X-11 , and X-12 ) in the southern Taiwan area have been
analyzed to calculate shale content , porosity , formation
resistivity , water saturation , and irreducible water
saturation etc. Three permeability models ( Wylie-Rose ,
Coates-Dumanoir , and Porosity models ) have been developed by
using SIMPLEX optimization technique based on the results from
well log data and permeabilities data from the core samples.
These three permeability models were derived based on the data
of each well and on the data of all four wells. For each
permeability model ( for example , Wylie-Rose model ) , the
model derived individually from each well ( three are four
different equations from four wells ) shows very similar
results. For using the data of all four wells , the results of
the three models derived are : ( Wylie-Rose model ) , (
Coates-Dumanoir model ) , and ( Porosity model ). In using
these models to calculate permeabilities for a formation , it is
showed that the model with more constant parameters ( i.e.,
Coates-Dumanoir model ) has rapid changes in permeabilities
calculated in a formation. As opposed to this , the model with
less constant parameters ( i.e., Porosity model ) has smooth
changes in permeabilities calculated.
