碩士 / 國立中山大學 / 海洋資源學系 / 85 / The objecties of this research are to explore the in situ temperature, salinity, percent transmission, and turbidity in the vicinity of the Tseng-Wen river mouth, to make atmosphere correction by the reflectance model of NOAA weather satellite and LANDSAT-TM satellite, and to calculate the relationship among the reflectance, turbidity, and suspended sediment concentrations. The purpose of this research is to study the time-space variation of hydrographic properties in the region and to determine factors affecting these properties. The results show that both the actual turbidity and diffuse attenuation coefficient are considerably related to the reflectance. When we limit the data set to be within 3.5 hours of satellite overpass, we find that the correlation coefficient is 0.87 in the 95% confident interval. The regression analysis result shows a linear relationship between the suspended sediment concentrations and measured turbidity. This relationship was used to transform turbidity into the suspended sediment concentrations. Regression analysis between the suspended sediment and the reflectance shows a closer relationship using two transects closer to the time of satellite overpass (the correlation coefficient is 0.95). If we make regression analysis between suspended sediment concentrations and reflectance using all transects, the coefficient will decrease to 0.62 due to the tide. Now the region of river plume have become larger during the ebb than before. We expore the difference in remote sensing-application of two satellites. We find the spatial variability of the plume in terms of salinity and suspended sediment concentrations. We explore the relationship among the discharge of the river, the width and thickness of the plume, and suspended sediments. We find closer relationship between the width and thickness of the plume and the discharge of the river with the result of this research. In addition, the discharge of the river, the ebbing flow, disturbance of the wave on the seabed and the migration of suspended sediments near the river mouth all play important roles.
