Relationship Investigation Between Distribution of Coastal Sediment Grain Size and Bathymetry by Using Fuzzy Set Theory and GIS / 應用模糊理論與地理資訊系統探討海岸沈積物粒徑分佈與地形關係

碩士 / 國立中山大學 / 海洋環境工程研究所 / 85 / The aim of this thesis is to establish the process of transforming marine point data type to polygon data type. However, it really exists uncertaity then cause misunderstanding of geographical information and reduce analysis accuracy. It is helpful to think of the phenomena of boundary in the real world. For this purpose, we discuss the fuzziness caused by linguistic proposition in the process of Marine GIS. This study applies fuzzy theory in the nearshore sediment distribution pattern off Tseng-wen river mouth.
On the basis of fuzzy set theory, this thesis searches out the imprecision of regional boundaries. The α-cut concept could be applied to calculate suitable boundary value, to understand the transition zone between regions and draw the uncertainty zone caused by imprecise classification.
Due to the concept of fuzzy set , we use Zadeh (Min) operator to find out the relationship between sediment distribution and bathymetry. The result matches a simple physics phenomena, verifying the correctiness of the fuzzy method. At last, we compare the traditional overlay to the fuzzy method by the area of sediment distribution.
