The Movement and Distribution of Oxytetracycline in Penaeus monodon Culture System / 羥四環素在草蝦養殖系統的動向與分布

碩士 / 國立海洋大學 / 水產養殖學系 / 85 / Antibiotics are widely used to prevent and cure
bacterialdiseases in the aquaculture processes. The possibility
of antibiotic residue remained in aquacultural products and
environment always raise the concern in food safety and
environment protection. Therefore, this study is aimed to find
out the movement and distribution of oxytetracycline in
tigerprawn (Penaaeus monodon) and its culture environment after
theprawn fed medicated diets. Four medicated diets
containing oxytetracycline 1250, 2500,5000 and 7500 mg/kg were
fed to the prawn in 16 100 l tanks onceper week. Prawn fed diet
containing no oxytetracycline served ascontrol, also having 4
replicates. Each tank was paved with 10 cmsediment and stocked
with 25 prawns. The Experiment lasted for two month. In the
first month, water, sediment and prawn were sampled one day
before and one, four and seven days after themedicated diets
were fed. In the second month, such samplingswere conducted one
to two weeks after the medicated diets were fed. Oxytetracycline
in the samples were analyzed by high-performance liquid
chromatography (HPLC). Several parameters inwater and sediment
were also determined to relate environmentchanges with
oxytetracycline residue. At HPLC detection limit of 0.1 ppm,
oxytetracycline residuewas found in prawn and the concentration
varied withoxytetracycline dosages in feed and withdraw periods.
Accordingto the relationship that the residue decreased with
time, Ct=Coxe-kt (Ct is the residue concentration at time t, Co
the initial concentration, t the time in day, k the decaying
coefficient), the reference withdraw periods were 7.15,
6.63,6.00 and 4.18 day for the dosage 7500, 5000, 2500 and 1250
mg/kg,respectively. There were no oxytetracycline residue
detected in all water and sediment samples at all time and
therefore no conclusion could be drawn on the relationship
between residueand water and sediment parameters although which
varied with treatments and time. The result suggested that
the withdraw period be minimal 8days for oral medication of
oxytetracycline to 4 g tiger prawnreared at 28-30 C. Constrained
by the detection limit of themeasuring technique and limit
documentation, the effect ofoxytetracycline residue on the
nutrient in the cultureenvironment could not be conclusive based
on the results of thisexperiment.
