system, fast-time simulation system full scale
measurement system, maneuvering safety Ship handling simulator
is widely accepted as an useful tool for maneuvering safety
evaluation of a ship in port, but considering limitations of a
simulator occurred due to system reality, a full scale
measurement system has been developed theat may play a com-
pensating role to make a more profound grasp on the maneuvering
safety. This study aims at the set-up of a full scale
measurementsystem, and then to combine with the real-time
simulation and fast- time simulation techniques, in order to
establish a complete man-euvering safety evaluation system. The
maneuvering safety evaluation, therefore, can be carried out by
bothcomputer simulation and full scale measurement. Besides, a
maneuvering supporting system is invest-igated in order to
integrate with barbor layout.matural environment andaids to
navigation etc. to constitute a safe environment for ship man-
euvering. experimental resultsof several case studies had been
shown inorder to illustrate the effectiveness of the safety
evaluation system.
