Numerical modeling of regional tidal waves / 大區域潮汐波數值模式之研究

碩士 / 國立臺灣大學 / 土木工程學系 / 85 / This study is to investigate tidal wave propagation
scattered byocean structure or topography in large regions.
Based on a model equation derived by Tsay(1991), a finite
elementnumerical model is developed. For waves with longer
periods, thisequation shows the effects of the earth's
rotation. For waves withshorter periods,it reduces to the mild-
slope equation. Present numericalmodel incorporates Dirichlet's
open boundary condition with the aim offield applications. The
no-flux boundary condition is approximated in amore general way
so that it could be applied to field cases. Results of
present finite element method with Dirichlet's openboundary
conditions are compared with Guao's(1995)analytical
solutionsand numerical results of tidal waves.
