the world since Eastman Kodak successfully outsourced its
information systems to outside vendors. The amounts and scopes
of IS outsourcing are growing and enlarging. Although the
reasons of IS outsourcing may be different either in public
sectors or in private sectors, the purpose of IS outsourcing is
similar, that is, to pursue success. However, studies in success
factors of IS outsourcing are limited and fragmented, ignoring
the viewpoints of outsourcers'''''''' and vendors'''''''' stance. Hence, the
objective of this thesis is to study success factors of IS
outsourcing from the constituency of outsourcers and vendors.
Qualitative and quantitative research methods had been applied
in this study to collect success factors from both outsourcers
and vendors. The subjects were asked to rate the scales of
importance toward these success factors. Base on their ratings,
cognition difference had been found and a framework for
successful IS outsourcing had been developed. At the end of the
thesis, conclusions and suggestions for outsourcers and vendors
had been outlined. The results can be referred by both side
constituency to enhance each other''''''''s understanding and reach a
win-win situation.
