碩士 / 國立中央大學 / 土木工程學系 / 86 / The disposal of waste water through ocean outfalls is
adopted in many cities. However, the seawater intrusion and
settling problems in the diffusers are commonly reported,
which may greatly reduce the initial dilution for the outfalls.
The hydraulics of submerged diffusers is studied in this
paper by employing theoretical analysis and experimental
test. The mechanisms and processes of sewater intrusion and
purging are explored by both experimental work
andnumerical modelling. Flow patterns in the diffusers
after intrusion will be the second task by employing
numerical analysis . The flow distribution in the diffuser
will be examined first by experimental measurement
then by numerical analysis. The critical conditions for
seawater intrusion and purging is examined based on
experimental measurements and the numerical model
developed in this study.
