Design of Underwater Adaptive Beamformer Based on Digital Signal Processor / 數位訊號處理器於水下適應性束波構成器之設計

碩士 / 國立海洋大學 / 電機工程學系 / 86 / Because real underwater environment has rather complicated
channel response, resulting in much difficulty for
communications, proper signal processing and recovery is needed.
In the applications of array signal processing, beamformer has
the ability of depressing interference and recovering desired
signal ,thus, it has been widely investigated in the fields of
radar, sonar , and communications. Many different kinds of
beamformer algorithms have been proposed lately ,wherein Frost
beamformer is quite popular due to its low computational and
high performance efficacy. Based on the Frost beamformer
algorithm ,we developing a real-time software program , and
implement the real-time beamforming through practical hardware
facilities.In this thesis , a 32 bits floating-point digital
signal processor TMS320C40 , produced by Texas Instruments, is
used as the key processor to implement the algorithm of adaptive
Frost beamformer for real-time processing in actual underwater
environment . Through computer simulations and experiments in
lab watertank ,we verify the validity of the Frost real-time
software program , and assess the feasibility of its use in real
underwater environment.
