The Study of Parasite Fauna of Commercial Marine Fish in Southern Taiwan / 臺灣南部經濟海水魚內寄生蟲蟲相研究

碩士 / 國立臺灣大學 / 獸醫學系研究所 / 86 / The purpose of this study is to investigate the parasite fauna of commercial
marine fishes at Southern Taiwan and understand the relationship between them.
The samples of host fish were collected at Ping-Tong from Sep. 1997 to Feb. 1
998. There were 696 fishes belonged to 26 species, 18 families. Survey results
, revealed 17 species were infested by Nematodes, 3 by Trematodes, 6 by Cestod
es, 8 by Acanthocephala, 3 by plerocercoid of Cestodes. Among these infested f
ishes, some were infested with only one type of parasites but some showed an i
nfestion by two or more types of parasites. Except of that, we found 8 specie
s of marine fishes that were not infested by any parasites. The overall infest
ation rate in 41.09 %, and the parasites species identified belong to the foll
owing species: Anisakis type I and type III ; Thynnascaris type I, type III, t
ype IV , and the type III molting to typeIV; Hysterothylacium HC1and HC5; Raph
idascaris sp; Pseudoterranova sp; two different morphological of Hemiuridae; t
he plerocercoid of Trypanorhyncha, Echinophallus sp, and Atelemerus sp. from t
he genus Echinophallidae; Amphicotylidae; three different morphological of Rha
dinorhynchidae; Bolbosoma sp; Serrasentis sp. Among the infesting samples, the
highest individual incidence of helminthes in Nematodes with 66.19 %, followe
d by Cestodes with 20.42 %, Acanthocephala 6.69 %, Trematodes 3.87 %, infestat
ion by two or more type helminthes 3.52 %. We found the relationship of parasi
tic fauna and marine fishes that was influenced significantly by fish diet and
the diet would influence the infestation rate. Among the parasite species col
lected, the percentage of zoonotic parasites is 12.35 %, mainly Anisakis sp. (
18.37 %), Hysterothylacium sp. (3.81 %), Bolbosoma sp. (0.115 %), the plerocer
coid of Trypanorhyncha (1.61 %). We can obtain a preliminary understanding the
differences between the parasitic fauna of marine fishes at northern and sout
hern Taiwan, but if these differences have any biological meaning need further
investigated.
