The Evaluation of Convenient Method for Seasand Test / 檢測海砂之簡易方法可行性評估

碩士 / 中國文化大學 / 應用化學研究所 / 86 / The natural resources are limited in Taiwan area. In recent
years, aggregates have been exploited for a long time because of
the economic development, and the sand has been exhausted by
degrees. It has been a tendency to excavate seasand instead of
river sand in the near future. The government has signed the
method to test chloride ion in the seasand and the limit of the
chloride ion in the aggregate. This study suggests a practical,
applicable and convenient method for testing seasand. This
method could be applied on the excavated spot and during the
procedure of the desalting process till the measurement data
within the limit data. It is helpful for the promotion of the
quality of the civil engineering and for the supervision of the
quality control department. Then the method could satisfied the
enthusiastic care of the people. In view of the problem of
the seasand house and the inconvenience about thetime and the
operation of the China standard CNS 13407 method, this study
designs a brief, convenient, and rapid method for washing
seasand and the chloride ion contained test. This method only
needs four to five minutes to operate, and does not need special
professional skill and complicated calculation. The data gained
from the mehtod could multiply 1/10000 or divide 10000 and
directly compare with the limit data 0.012w/w% and 0.024w/w%
which the China standand set to realize whether the seasand is
qualified. The convenient method for testing seasand, which
this study designs, involves 50 grams seasand to be washed for
three minutes, and a beneficial cleaning effect could be
reached. On the desalting aspect, this study suggests a
procedure combined with dewater style and natural accumulation
style. But when theconcentration of the cleaning water is more
diluted, it is necessary to considerthe problem about the ions
cleaned unevenly except the chloride ion. The problem is
probably due to materials solubility and absortion phenomenon
on the seasand. The conductivity test proposed as an additional
measurement could make up theproblem. And, it is not enough to
determine whether a kind of aggregate is qualified only
according to the chloride ion contained. This study recommends
that a more reliable judgement on the seasand examination could
be declared by both of the chloride ion test and the
conductivity test, and more information about other harmful
ionic species could be known.
