Experiment studies on monochromatic wave induced soil responses in a fine sandy seabed / 規則波引致之細顆粒砂質海床反應特性試驗研究

碩士 / 國立成功大學 / 水利及海洋工程學系 / 87 / In this thesis, a series of wave flume tests on soil responses in a find sandy seabed (d50=0.085mm and 0.125mm) under monochromatic wave actions were conducted to be compared with previous experimental results. Preliminary results on the pore pressure measurements show that there are three types of responses, defined as unfliudized type, initially-fluidized type and continuously-fluidized type, respectively. We made a comparison between Tzang (1992) and our experimental results. In the present tests the measurements of unfluidized response do not display mean pore pressure increasing, and those of initially-fluidized response no clear evidence of resonance mechanism is found. There is a pressure decreasing phenomenon when the mean pore pressure build-up to the maximal value in the continuously-fluidized response. It is more clear on the thicker soil inside the trench. These comparisons suggest that the seabed responses of present fine-grained soil are slightly different from the responses of silty soil. However, sediment suspension were similarly clearly seen over the fluidized seabed by visual observations. The results imply that it becomes feasible to further study the characteristics of correlation between wave-induced seabed response and sediment suspension in the laboratory.
