The Relationship Between User''s Prior Knowledge, Navigation Aids, and Hypertext Search Performance / 使用者先前知識,導航輔助及超文本檢索表現之關係

碩士 / 國立交通大學 / 傳播所 / 87 / Now is the time when the internet prevails. The page content author delivers lots of information to the user. However, the author can''t expect that every user''s prior knowledge level is equal. User''s prior knowledge really affect the amount he accepts. In this research, we try to find a way which let different users all can optimize the hypertext content.
According the reference, we suppose experts'' path and novices'' path are different. In this research, we invite librarians as the expert group and the university students as novice group. By log files, we record the experts'' and novices'' path to compare the difference. Then we afford the novices a map, which is constructed with experts'' path.
After the experiment, we get some conclusion. First the experts'' search performance is really better than the novices''. Second the novices who use the map really perform better than those without map. In future, researchers can evaluate the interest and memory dimensions continually.
